Default 400EX Aluminum airbox

I am thinking about getting an aluminum airbox for my 400ex to make it look a little better by relocating the battery and electrical crap, looking at a few they sell on ebay for like $75.00, they look pretty stout, no lid but if I get one, I'll put one of those outerwear airbox covers, plus I have an outerwear on my K&N. Is there any downsides to running this setup? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I was really close to getting one for my 250r but after i did a little research I found that they are prone to cracking over time.

In the end I was glad I stayed with my plastic one. My .02

They look trick but I see them all the time on ebay with all the welds busted. I'm sure the extra weight of the battery will not help either.

yea i gues yu're right, the one they have on ebay for cheap doesnt have any welds and it looks prety cheaply made, I have some nice diamond plate aluminum which I think will make a really nice, durable, trick airbox, I might just buy one off ebay to get measurements to make my own, then send it back.
