Default Heads Ported: Whats a good price?

Sgt Rock or one of the other helpful guys on this forum recently recommended getting the heads ported (to compliment cam upgrades). I think that is a great idea, but I would like to know what is a good price for this work.

I have contacted 3 well-known shops for prices to port both heads on my P650 and so far I have 2 quotes for $600 (total price) and 1 quote for $500 (total price). Do these prices sound reasonable to you guys? If so, this may not be a cheap mod!

Happy trails...

I think I paid around $400 to have my V700 heads ported and polished...

It cost me $500.00 to have my heads planed, flowed, valves cleaned up, & the FST heavy duty springs installed...

Did you get alot of power from the port and polish to justify $500?
