I have a 2001 AC250 2X4 and find it to be an excellent machine. Will run over 45mph and will have at least half a tank of gas left when the bigger rigs are on reserve. It carries everything I need, including my deer out of the woods. The only problem I have had is the shift cable is loose and froze this winter because it has water in it. I just ordered the parts to update it to the new style link rod system on the 2003 and up machines. Other than the shifter it has climbed the same hills as the bigger rigs and gone through the same streams, etc that the the bigger machines do. So it has worked well for me, but then again I'm over fifty and got over the "Tim the Toolman" more power thing after racing 130mph boats for years. Now I do it smart and not with brute force, saves on the broken bones and leaking blood on the clothes and ground.

Well said Bear. If you your trail riding stays quite dry then that atv should do great. Around here we get quite a bit of snow and the spring season gets very muddy. Around here the 250 does fine about 10 months of the year. Of coarse the worst is the middle of winter. So to sum it up the 250 should do fine.
