I bought a Prairie 300 4x4 last year and I don't see them anymore.... did Kawasaki stop making this model?I have never had a problem with this quad(except for front bearings going out all the time) but this thing runs like a raped ape..Does anyone know if I can modifiy this thing..... You know....Pipe..... jets.....filterand where I should look for more info on this quad... Thanks

 

Not that the 300 Prarie was bad or anything, Kawasaki just canned the 300 and 400 Praries and made the 360 we have today. I don't know much about the 4x4 gig, but I guess all the same applies as engins is engines. Ebay is a good place the check for stuff- a slip on silencer would be a good plavce to start. Then open up the air box, run without the lid. This will then vcertianly require rejetting, and dynojet has more than filled the bill for me. Hope this helps get ya started.

 

I own a 02' 300 prairie 4x4 and love it, don't know why they quit making them. Yes you can mod it just like any of the bigger quads. I have a k&n air filter, dynojet, snorkel, and 26" gators.

 

Our '01 has been very reliable ( I wouldn't say it runs like a "raped ape", but would probably keep up with most 360's... I won't miss that stupid shifter, though, when we do part with it... I plow our driveway with it, so I don't have to hang that old "boat anchor", on my "ripper", & the push button shifter is much more of a pain to use than the newer Prairies gate shifter...

 

Thanks guys ... Iguess it's a keeper... I was ready to trade her in on a sport quad for fear that I wouldn't be able to sell a bike that they quit making....
