Default Predator 90 Starter problem

I originally posted this on the kids atv site but figured I would see what help I get on here. I bought my son a new Predator 90 last spring and he has had a blast . Other than fighting for riding time with his younger brother everything was going great until this past Fall when the starter went for no apparent reason. He wasn't doing anything unusal and wasn't in any water so I'm really not sure what happened but it won't do anything not even make a sound when the key is turned. It kick starts with no problems so that's what he has been doing but it would be nice to get the starter working again. It of course is no longer under warranty so if I can fix it on my own and save the service charge at the dealer that would be great. Anyone have something similar happen, is it common with this machine and what suggestions can you give me.
Thanks in advance.

our sp 90 did that a battery cable was loose. then once it would just idle, and it had dirt in the reeds

almost sounds like a starter solenoid. I am not sure where it is on the 90 but if you have a volt meter you can try and chase the voltage. Also it might be the brake switch
