Default new to the 300ex

I just got my first quad, and it's a 300ex. My question is this...At mid-high rpm, it feels like it has a rev limiter or something. It seems to cut out, and i have to shift. What could be the problem? does it have a rev limiter? thanx in advance.

also...what does the reb **** on the left side of the bike labeled "fuel" do? it doesn't seem to change anything when i turn it either direction.

Does it have a pipe or after market air filter? If so it sounds like it isnt jetted right...TYou would have to have it rapped out to hit the rev limiter...The arrow shaped **** on the left side should be your reserve, off,on for your fuel...

this sounds kinda stupid but it happend to me when i felt like it had no high rpm power it turned out that the choke was on half way and thats why it was cutting out. make sure that ur choke is all the way back (positioned toward the back of the quad). and the fuel thing has 3 positions 1. on (this lets fuel run normal and is what u want it on) 2 off (the fuel is turned off. only use this if u are storing the quad for a while and dont want gas leaking or w/e. and 3 reserve (when u run out of gas put it to this and u will have a little gas to get urself home or to the nearest gas area.
