how do you tighten chain

Default how do you tighten chain

my bro has a 400 xplorer and the chain has tons of play in it and we can't figure out how to tighten it. What i am wanting to know is how do i tighten it. thanks

Default how do you tighten chain

What year is it? If it is 98 on down it should have "tons" of slack.You have to put a tie strap to the rack and hitch and put a load on the shock to get the correct adjustment. Get a manual and it will tell you how to adjust it .Hate to say this but EVERY Polaris owner NEEDS a service manual or at least a owners manual.

it's a 99 400, the reason I am asking is because we are going to sell it and there is way too much slack in the chain, but i can't seem to find out how to tighten it.
The reason I havn't got a manual for it is because we are going to sell it.
