Default rusty wheels on 600 Scrambler

Hello,

I noticed yesterday that the wheels on 03 600 Scrambler were rusty in some spots. Has this happened to you? Is this a warranty issue?

What can I do to clean it up.. Wire wheel.. steel wool?

Thanks,

Hank

Your 600 Scrambler?? I assume you meant 600 Sportsman LOL. Are they the chrome wheels? I have heard of problems with the chrome wheels rusting. Dont know if Polaris will cover them though

Rust is bad news...but ya they might cover it...if not then you should try to get the rust off...The bad thing is depends on how bad the rust is...If its not to bad then I would use steal wool..maybe start with a 2 then finish it off with a double zero...that way your not using anything to ruff which will scratch the crap out of it...if its really bad..then you might need to use a wire brush..I would use gold bristles..A little bit easier on steel than the wire bristles...or try rust remover..The bad thing though..is once you get it all off...if you don't coat it with something then its bound to come back...rust is a disease...hopefully they will cover you for it.
