Default ARRRGGHHH Shims for Under Buckets.....

I was hoping at least this weekend I can get my DS going but I'm halted by a 13mm diameter peice I can't seem to find.

I got my head done by Gary at TVI and he installed shims. When I checked the clearances of the exhaust valves they are off. I would like them to be .008 but they are at around .015 in clearance. I tried ordering from TVI (not slamming them) but it seems like Gary is the only one to tell me what I need. He won't be back till Thursday. I want to get these F@#$ers so I can slap this machine together. I tried going to several Kawasaki dealers and NONE had them. They told me they belong to a 10 year old bike called the KZ650. I would like to order a couple but not sure what sizes to go with. The number on the shim is 2-50. Anyone here uses under buckets that can help me out I'd like to finally get this beast going. I'm starting to regret going with Shim under because now it's no longer a Bombardier item.

Major if your reading this can you PM with the dealer that had them? I'll call them up give them credit card number and have them 3 day air it.

Sorry to vent but it seems like it's taking forever and always this little part that is holding me up.

Entomber,
do you have a set of calipers so you can measure what you have ? add that to where you want to be and you'll know what size ( thickness) to request. If woods doesn't have what your looking for pm me and we'll see if we can find what your looking for. You've got to be able to measure what you have now as a starting point.

It's the same motor as the BMW F650. I got mine for cheap at a BMW dealer (motorcycle), if you need them quicker than mail order. All the Bombardier dealers I called wanted to special order by size for $11 each. I think I paid $4 and they offered to trade for my old ones.

I think they are the same in big street bikes, your local dealer, honda, kal, whatever should have a box of shims. my guy here did anyway.

I ordered mine from the link Scoob sent me. I was hoping they would be here today. The guy was kind of comical on the phone. Hopefully tomorrow it arrives. I ordered a pair one and two sizes up. Hopefully they work out.
