Today, i found a pair of 55watt off road lights. Will they work on my tb without doing or changing the electrical system?

one will work for sure but two may be pushing the limit. if u havnt bought them yet then i would suggest a set of moose lights or warn lights. they both have two lights and are both very bright. they come with wireing and mounting brackets and switches and anything else u need. they are a nice set up. scott

Ok, they look like nice lights. Do you (mudmaster250) have them on yours. (because it says that you have moose lights) If so, how do u like them compared to the stocker? Thanks again!

the difference with the lighting is literally night and day. they are great lights and they are waterproof too. i love them, before my grandma wouldnt let me ride at night much cuz i could never see stuff and when i got the lights she saw how bright they were and the first night i had them i went riding till 8:30. and she is overprotective. so that should tell u something, they shine about a half mile at least. they are super easy to wire up with the right tools. any more questions just ask. scott

I have 2 55w Halogens on my Sportsman and when I wired them the first time, I connected them to the Hi Beam circuit. I had a problem with excessive draw at times and they would cause the circuit breaker to trip which would kill the entire electrical system. I ended up wiring directly to the battery and putting a waterproof toggle switch on the headlight pod. The Sportsman only put out 240w from the stator, I'm not sure about a TB. Check your manual and that should give you an idea on capacity of your system.

Mudmaster,
Do you run the stock light and the moose lights at the same time? I have a 99 sport 400 and would like to put additional lights on it. Will it be able to handle it? Should i run 2 55w lights and not the stock one at all? What is your or everyone elses opinion? Thanks for the replys.
