I'd say check out the Camel Back HAWG or Alpine...They both have large capacities for crap and hold 100oz's of your favorite beverage....

I have the Camelback HAWG and love it...it's around $89.00 I think. Holds 100oz of water and lots of other cr@p...cell phone, keys, snacks, patch kit, etc. I have a rope and strap wrapped around my back grab bar...takes up too much room in the pack. I'm not sure how much strain you want to put on your back though after what you went through. Glad to hear you made nice recovery.

I like the one Bing suggests too...LOL!

Camelback HAWG (get a later model, not the old square one!) for traveling light, or the larger Transalp when I need to carry more gear for longer/more remote rides. Both have a 3 liter water blader (nice out here in the desert!), and the Transalp will hold a second bladder if needed.
