I'm trying out for the golf team, i'm a freshman and the coach says that i can make varisty if i get my slice to leave me. My dad was helping me and he says taht my problem is that i'm breaking my wrists, my weight is not on the front of my feet, and that and swing the club to the left towards my body, which is spinning the ball to make it slice.

Do any of you wise golfers have any reccomendations to stop my slicing?

And also, i have troulbe shifting my weight to get a good drive, any reccomendations for that?

Thanks,

Speaking of golf, I live right by a golf course and some people always complain my V-Force is too loud, well get over it I stay on my own land. But come to my school, the golf coach is like 70 and probably wouldn't notice or care about a few little flaws you have

Make sure your club face is not open at contact.

Make sure you have a strong grip.(meaning, that both you thumbs are pointing directly down the club shaft.) If your right thumb(assuming you are right handed, is off to the right of the shaft, it will create a slice.)

Good luck. Let me know if this helps.

Try to get your hips cleared before contact also, this seems to help a number of people.

do a search online and you will get more info than you could read in a week. For a quick fix change your setup. Move your front foot about two inches closer to the ball than your back. You have to still swing down the same target line. If your right handed roll your right hand over so you can see 3 knuckles at setup. Let me say again swing down your target line!

let me know if it helps.

I don't like to brag, but I once shot a 6 under par at the local golf course. So you might say I got talent. The one tip I can give you is, that you have to get your timing down on that darn Windmill. If I hadn't hit that dang thing, I would have been 7 under par. I hope that helps. well i got some bad news guys, i didnt make the team. The coach was completely bsed my try outs, because of the weather i never got to go the the course to show her my short game, she just judged on my driving range.

She doesnt seem to be much of a golf coach by just looking at your drive. The shortgame is what is important, Driving the ball is important but with out a good short game driving the ball well is pointless. I have a decent shortgame but suck at hitting good drives. I usually dont even hit my driver, my advice would be to leave the driver in the bag and hit your 5 wood or your 3 wood accuracy is more important than distance anyday.
