I am looking for a good exhaust that has good power gains, I also want a pipe that is LOUD. I am leaning between the White Bros, DMC and Big Gunn. How much louder would the headpipe make it instead of just the slip on.

if you want a loud pipe get a curtis sparks x-6. this is the loudest pipe i have ever heard. may be due to the fact i am running open exhaust. its loud but adds some noticable power.

Why do you want the loudest pipe???

Our sport is under enough flak as it is without people purposely putting the loudest pipes on their bikes. That's a sure way to get the remaining riding areas closed.

If you talk to a "greenie" or other ATV or motorcycle hater, one of their biggest complaints is NOISE. Please do us all a favor and encourage the manufacturers to make us quiet pipes that produce power by not buying the loudest pipes. Power and noise are not synonymous.

To the guy running open pipes: WHY???? it has been shown, time and time again that unless you are a Nitromethane burning 6000hp drag racer, open pipes generally produce less power than a properly designed muffled system. Even I, being a lover of exhaust noises, and a person that sometimes goes out of his way to listen to the exhaust note of a cool car or bike, absolutely hate people running open pipes, they do not sound "cool", they just have an extremely obnoxious cackle that is just plain not necessary and offensive to all...

About SuperTrapp IDS2 exhaust, my friend bought the "racing series" system for his Lakota and yes, it is loud. It is not hard to see why it is so loud either, there are no baffles whatsoever, none. Pay the extra $20 and get the "quiet series." Less sound, more ground.

Yes, the quad in the sand dunes is me. The "Batavia track" pics are of me and a friend both on our 400EXs, "Chris's track" pics are me. I'll be posting more to the "Chris's track" section in the next day or so....

I now have TCS front shocks, but most of the pics were when I my bike was completely stock. I will be sending my rear off in the next day or two to get the TCS treatment (I bought a spare rear so I could still ride )

In my opinion suspension is the first modification a person should consider to their machine...

BTW, I raced an AMA national harescamble this weekend and my "stock" (airbox mods and appropriate jetting) bike was pulling piped bikes in the straights, put a smile on my face ....

Thanks!
