Does anyone know what is a "similar oil"? Because I have had a hard time finding the PS-4 oil. Almost all of the dealers near me don't even carry it.(Even though they sell the Pred.) I have heard of a few possibilities but never from anyone who has actually used a different oil.

 

I use the Mobil 1 mx4t. It is WAY better than the PS4. The motor is quieter and it shifts a whole lot better too.

As you put more hours on your Pred, finding neutral will become easier no matter which oil you use. The engine will also break-in. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] Use what you want, PS-4 has yet to let me down.

 

when i used the PS-4 last week... it shifted very hard and rough... i put some 20w-40 yamalube in and its much smoother now...
i also ran the mx4t and had no problems at all gave same results as the 20w-40... the mx4t is fully synthetic which is good... but it also cost 8$ a quart. which is quite a bit of cash when you change you oil often...

 

when it comes to predator oil dont be cheap with you are going to want to make sure it is good. they say use ps-4 only because they dont want you using anything worse then it.

 

if it good enough for a high revving YFZ... or a raptor... then its good enought for my pred... JMO...

 

Thanks but, I wasn't looking for cheaper just more available. None of the dealers around Birmingham, AL carry ps-4.

 

i cant speak for around your town... i only know whats more avalible in my area...
