Default The all around swingarm!!

I've got a 04 bajaX and was wondering what the best all around swingarm would be for duning and some trail riding. I'm talking about like a +2, +3 or +4?? I've heard that the +4 is the way to go but I don't do a lot of drag racing. I do like to jump quite a bit and shoot up some hills and it's hard now to keep the front end on the ground while doing some climbing. I know the 04 DS650 have a shorter swingarm than earlier models...so I guess I'm looking for feed back on what kind of riding you guys do and if your running anything different than a stock swingarm. Thanks!!

I do mainly dirt trails and track with my 04 Baja. I didn't care for the shorter swingarm so I converted it to an 03 swingarm and it works much better.

ii have a +4 on the 720 and it is somewhat long for duning i think the guys with plus 2 have a good run at all around good, although it seems good with the stock with the stage two.

+3 sounds about right for me. Lance

I agree with barlett. I do about everything with my stock swingarm on my '03. I have good shocks on and they are set up well, and I have no fear of trying anything. I think the '04's are a little light in the front, but a stock length of the older ones are about right. Now if you are going with a 720 kit or nitrous you may want to consider an extended then.

720 on nitrous and the 4 might be a little strong

Thanks guy's for all your input! Although I don't have any immediate plans to get a 720 kit or go on the bottle, you all know that we naver say "Never" when it comes to getting more power!! :-) My stock 04 swingarm is a little short (IMO) for some of the riding I like to do. I'm thinking that a +3 would be the ticket for me and help save on my clutch on some of the sand hill climbs.

Bartlett, I have not adjusted anything on my suspention. So anything you would like to share on helping me getting it set up right would be greatly appreciated.

Sandman430, You mention a +2 for all around duning! So that would make it a +3 like Haulinonthedunes said for the 04 DS's right? Since the've been shorten like and 1'' -1 1/4" over previous models!
