Default Wolverine Airbox

Is the wolverine CFM airbox thats advertised on EBay a good deal/unit? looking for maximum performance in a semi arid environment and a pipe to compliment the airbox unit. If not where is the best unit/deal?
Thanks

cfm is cheaper than most at about 185 or so. I have seen UM boxes go for 225. Friend of mine has a cfm unit on his 250r and loves it.

stang,

I have an Alba unit with K&N and outerwear that I would sell if you are interested. Great condition.

Does the Alba unit use the stock air filter size? How is it for water?

The alba box uses a clamp on filter. It is not as large as the stock filter. The box is designed after watercraft airbox. Channels any water that gets on top out away from filter. Works quite well.

That would make my K&N useless lol. Why are you getting rid of it? How much better does it breath? And the big question.... how much do you want for it?

The box works quite well at keeping water out but is not fully submergable. So if you ever come up on a deep crossing where the water could come over the top of air box you would have to turn around and go back. Have not had that situation come up but was always worried about it when riding. I checked them both on the flow bench and will have to look up the #'s to be sure but it seems like I rember 22-25% better than the stocker. I have it recorded so can find out for sure if you want. I want $150 for the box, filter and outerwear.
The box seemed to help out the most on the top end. I had it and a big gun utility series pipe on one of my 96 wolvys and ran with a couple of different wolvys with pipe and jet kits. They were pretty close threw the first few gears but when we got in the higher gears I could just run away from them.

Sure give it some thought. CFM gets what, 130 for there box. Then you buy the k&n and the outterwear. Its just setting in the garage. I'm not too worried if I sell it or not. Just saw the post and thought I woul throw it out there. I would have to look up my reciept but am quite sure I gave alba much more when I bought it. But then, they were the only game in town cfm did not offer box then.
