Default You Know Its Your Fault!

I should be an ordinary warrior trail rider. But because of the internet ive already hot rodded the motor as far as it can go without race gas or a stroker crank. That blew up so now its getting a top secret vintage engine I spent my savings modifying. If it wasnt for the internet and this forum I would be outside trying to drill a hole in my stock pipe to make it louder then wondering why it backfired on top end. Anyone else undergo a similar change when they discovered forums?

LOL, I feel your pain. If I hadnt found this place though, I would have been buying things out of dirtwheels because they said they were good!!! Then I would wonder why it ran like crap after my new pipe and filter with the airbox all together. I would have had to send all of the engine mods out because I wouldnt know what to do after I screwed them up. I would wonder why the hotcams valve specs left my bike rattling like a baby's toy.

Not really,my second bike at 16 was a 50cc Rieju RR limited Castrol edition(White),and I tricked the motor out with a 80cc cilinder, full pipe, foam filter and carbon fiber reeds,it could spank 125cc automatics. Now Im 20 with a stock Raptor and I must admit I didnt know much about 4strokes(cams and valves and stuff) untill I visited these forums...and I would have never found albaaction without these forums(Im ordering 3 things from them on Monday).

Doesn't anybody here know that buying things to squeeze out every bit of hp from an engine can end up ruining it, I mean really, my cousin whos a mechanic at a shop for cars tells me that they're always getting cars with engines with screwed up pistons and valves and other things just because the owners add all these things like nos and turbos and all those other things to bust out more hp, more power=more heat=more damage.

Well, if you set something up right for more performance, the motor makes more power and doesn't hafta struggle as much. And I agree with Choky!!

It does equal more fun, until your engine blows and you'll have to spend lots of cash fixing it up, thats really fun ha. Setting it up right can help a little but heat inside the cylinder, its like hell for the motor. Things like intakes, jet kits, big bore kits and exhaust sytems are cool but going out and getting things like high compression pistons kits or adding different fuel and all those other mods for the inner parts of the engine like crankshafts is engine torture. Look at the hillclimbers, they got nitro methane feul, and everythings set up right, but they'll eventually brake down.

But its all cool cause you guys seem to be able to afford it, i'm also gonna get mods for my atv to be(yz450) like ti muffler, airfilter and maybe big bore kit(if there is one), just dont wanna go above and beyond.

One thing I just don't understand is why some guys buy little 250, 350, and 400cc atvs and end up wasting tons of dough wanting to get more power when they instead shouldve bought a raptor or something like it and spend less on the engine mods since its already powerful as is, then couldve used the engine money to mod the bikes handling components like shocks and arms and stuff.

Yes I know the feeling.

In the past 2-4 weeks, I have dropped over $3K into my Raptor.

LOL. But I will have a very mean Raptor. So I'm sure I will be happy in the end.
