If you dont plan on riding at nite yo can remove the light . Most MX racers take off the lighting because of the weight and areodymanics.

if ur gonna race take em off

if u dont race why take em off? u may need it,unless u never ride at night

night riding is a sport in itself

i take mine off because i ride mainly with motox bikes.....stones and light lenses are not good!.....don't do a lot of night riding anymore.....i do when i am living on farms.....uni holidays (work)

........it's your decision....recommend if you do leave the light on, on trailrides.....insulation tape it across the lens, so if it breaks it will remain intaked

I say say the thing off! I rolled mine yesterday and bent the mount pretty bad and broke that lame looking handlebar cover. I am going to take it all off swap the bars and keep everything so when I sell it I can put it all back on in good shape. Also if you want to keep your light use a KC driving light vinyl cover with the padding. The rocks just bounce off it.

The 300EX looks cool without the headlight and it actually turns easier. I like to ride at night too so a quick disconnect to the appropriate wires and the two attaching bolts on the headlight frame ( along with the headllight plastic trimmed ) allow for day "off" night "on". Sometimes I attach the headlight during the day if we venture into the caves at Calico.
