Default Power vs. Weight, 700 vs. 500 HO

Newbie here,

Just bought a new Raptor and enjoy jumping stuff but hate worring about how deep the mud is! I had an old '93 350 4X4 that I really loved and had some very hard miles on it and never let me down. Thinking about getting a new one. My questions is, I'm not pulling anything, would it be better to have the lighter weight of the 500 HO or the power of the 700 EFI. Cost is not the issue, but I want to be happy with what I buy. I'm an average sized guy (6', 200 lbs) and I could move my old 350 around pretty good when I had to. I'm worried that the 700 would wind up riding me instead of the other way around because of the weight. I value your thoughts as you are the guys who have ridden them in their element. Hard to get an idea doing S-turns in the dealer parking lot.

The 500 ho has been around along time. It has been proven a great machine. Power is much like the 700 but the 700 has a slightly higher top end speed. Dont know much about the new efi but I hear great things about it. My brother inlaw has a sp600 and it is awsome. Not much different than the 700 either. All are great quads.

I have rode a lot of 500 non HO and HOs. They are great ATVs and run awesome. Prolly the longest lasting Polaris out there. With that said, my new EFI is unreal. It is like riding on air. Just think of the old 700 with everything you didn't like about it fixed, and the cold starting, better gas mileage, and everything else that comes with EFI added. I love this thing more and more everytime I ride. Another quad to look at is the SP600.....best of both worlds. Oh and btw you can't feel the extra 100 or so pounds. To me it feels lighter than what it really is. The Sportsman's also handle great. Just test drive one.....but don't unless your ready to put the money down, because you will be getting one!!!!
