Default TRX450R GNCC XC SETUP QUESTION

I will mostly race distict 14 ,Mi. harescrambs, but I hope to race a couple nationals this year and all of them next year. Just order all my skids and bumper from PRM. I'm got long travel zps shocks coming from Mark Baldwin. Arens nerfs, pro tapers to start with for bars, mite change. The a-arms are not made yet and I want to get the set up rigth the first time if I can. So I know I have to go 1 inch wider for the shocks, but I'm not sure about moving thethem 1 inch forward? Also I think I will go with a Sparks cam, and exhaust.

1" forward moves more weight toward the rear ... I would think that is the opposite direction you would want to go on a machine that is said to be light up front... JMO.

i can't stress how much i agree with Bartlett racing. just got back from round 4 in steele creek NC. and it did not look good for the new Honda. there were a few guys left on the line with that kickstart. i watched these guys practice before the flag...to ensure a good start. but when it came time. she no go. i was pissed just watching them.

i don't know if i would widen it for XC either. the Geometry should be right on for the woods. you might want to think about the larger Gas tank. alot of the Honda's were running with them in NC. good luck.

I was at the FL GNCC - almost every new Honda was still sitting on the line when they all left. Kicking.... that has to suck big time.

The GNCC boys better hope they come out with an electric start add-on ... or I don't know what kinda racing that thing is gonna do well in for the majority of people. It is hard to beat the button.

They just need more practice starting it. All the pros last year with 250r's didn't have a problem getting the holeshot.

Yep, that is the problem. They don't know how to kick one.

I'm just saying, go to the GNCC's .. a lot of them are still on the line. Not good.

That first kick stuff is great but when it takes 2 or 3, or you can't hear your machine and can't be certain if it fired or not, then you give it gas and it didn't, then you are chit outta luck - that sucks bit time.

I have no doubt that the pros know how to kick so it must be a problem with the bike. I race XC down here in Florida and the guys with kick starts can actually leave the line befor the electric start bikes if they get a good kick.
