I am debating selling my 250R. What do you think it is worth?

1986 TRX250R

white and blue plastic

PRM summit bumper, desert grab bar, .25 Z-swingarm, and bottom frame plate

duncan racing paul turner 2003 race pipe and fat boy silencer

dual o-ring exhaust flange

top end has less than 3 hours riding on it since it was redone

new keihin 36mm PJ carb

extra pipes plastic and wheels

hmmm...i was thinking somewhere between 3000 and 5000...it is in very good condition...and it is all stock except the carb and exhaust...still has the prolink stickers on the swingarms

 

Usually there are two extremes that will up the price of an R

1. An extremely stock unit, which according to your mods it doesn't qualify for. Just the engine rebuild alone disqualifies you.

2. Extremely modified, E.G., 370 engine, Elka SSD shocks, lonestar frame etc... An R in this condition will bring in some money, $5000-7000, but at a huge lost to the initial investment.

Rob's right. $3,000 is top dollar for a unit like yours, especially with your location and the new quads coming out. If the year was 2001 and you lived in southern cali, then yes- around 4.

I just sold a 2001 Roll Design complete Lobo chassis with axis shocks, Duncan motor, oversize tank, top of the line everything, setup for pro XC racing for $6800. I have been buying and selling 250r's for the past couple of years and about 6 monthes ago the demand has dropped DRAMATICALLY. That Lobo quad I just sold for $6800 would have brought $12000 one year ago! Anyway you would be lucky to get $3000 out of your quad considering it has stock frame, stock suspension, stock motor (pipe and carb don't count for much). Your quad would probably go for around $2200-2600 on ebay. Seems that TRX250Rob has a good pulse on the 250r market....
