The only other thing you can do is go to Ebay and bid on a pair of stock shocks. They go pretty cheap.

'86 250R Porting, CR head gastket, CT pipe, 2w and 1f Leager Arms, X33 Dura Blue axle, Graydon Nerfs, Fast Trekkers all around on Douglas Beads, Boyseen Rad Valve, Hinson Basket, Uni filter, IMS Pro Rod, Wisceo Pro Lite, Renthal Chain and Sprockets, Leager SwingArm '89 length, Leager Stem, ONE seat cover and graphics, Pro Design Tether, PEP 0 Load Shocks..NUFF SAID!!!

A friend of mine bolted on a front set of Works on his 400EX, which were from a 250R. They bolted up with no problems, and he hasn't had any so far. I am about to do the same as he did, only with different shocks.

The 250R and 400EX geometry are very close. There should be no problems with this swap. At least none that I can think of.
