Couple Questions
#1
Just bought a atc 70 for my daughter this thing is really cool
Here are my questions
#1 I bought the Clymer manual it says to clean the oil filter screen
evary time you change the oil. I tried to do this but I could not
get the crankcase cover off I took out all the bolts and it was loose
I could wiggle it but not pull it off being a newbie I did not want
to force it am I missing something or should I just use more muscle?
#2 The chain is very loose I have the adjuster maxed out can I
remove one link or should I buy a new chain?
Thanks for any input I really have the ATC bug I am ready to
sell my Quad and go hardcore 3 wheels thanks again John

Welcome back to the ATC bandwagon!
It's been a long time since I've had the crankcase apart on a 70, but I do not remember having to do anythng other than bolt removal to remove it. As such, I would wait for a definate response from someone here who has a better short term memory than myself.
As for the chain, if you have good sprockets and the chain itself is in good shape, other than being stretched, just remove a link from the chain.
If the chain and/or sprockets have seen better days, replace both the chain and both sprockets. A new chain will wear out quikly on old sprockets and new sprockets wear with an old chain.
