Default Does V need re-jetting for altitude

We are planning a trip to coral pink sand dunes this easter and I was wondering if the V needs to be rejetted. We run normally at about 1000 feet and coral pink is 5-6k feet. Will it be ok for a weekend trip as is. The V is totally stock( but not for long).

As long as your V is totally stock you should be okay. I was riding mine at 6000 ft with pro curcuit duals and had no problems. I even checked the plugs and the color was perfect.
HAVE FUN AND LOL.

All bets are off when it comes to recommending specific jet sizes for you, because of the (but not for long) part of your post, when you mention having a stock V. The mods you do will affect jetting, so you will need to dial in the jetting for your altitude anyway, once the mods are done. After that you can adjust jetting for the higher altitude of the Coral Pink Dunes if you want to. In general you will want to drop one main jet size for each 3000 feet gain in altitude, and one needle clip position for each 6000 feet in altitude. Or in other words, if you are running 145/148 main jets at 0 to 3000 ft altitude, you would want to change to 142/145 main jets in order to have the same peak performance at 3000 to 6000 ft altitude. Notice I said "in order to have the same peak performance". To tell the truth though, these Kawi four strokes are not all that sensitive to minor changes in altitude, so I would bet that your V will run just fine at Coral Pink without rejetting. If you were going to ride the Paiute Trail instead, at 11,000 ft altitude, then you would definitely want to rejet.

I live at 6000', My bike runs rich at that altitude. Better rich than lean. The bike still rode great!
