PINK SPRINGS AND SHIMS???
#1
I HAVE A 2004 VFORCE, I JUST ORDERED A PINK SPRING FOR EPI. I HAVE BEEN READING ABOUT USING PINK SPRING WITH 2 SHIMS. I HAVE A FEW QUESTIONS. WHAT ARE THE SHIMS SUPPOSED TO DO, WHERE DO THEY FIT IN RELATION TO THE PRIMARY SPRING, AND WHERE CAN I PURCHASE A SHIM. ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED.

Not sure where to get shims...probably same people you got spring from...Try and PM a member named kevinM he has alot of the answers you are lookin for..But as far as shims go the more you add the higher the stall....

I got the pink spring. It's worth the money, if it is your first upgrade. You can definetly feel it pull harder to the top speed. And as far as the shims go I ordered 2 of them, but the damn dealer put them on backorder. It's been 2 weeks since I ordered them, I'm starting to get a little bit pissed. Anyways, you will need to get the shims either from a Kawasaki Dealer or a Polaris dealer, as the shims are interchangeable. So if one dealer doesn't have it maybe the other will. Here are the part numbers you will need. Kawasaki part # 92026-1603 and Polaris part #7555899. Good luck with this.

Dont add more than 3 shims as it could cause the coils of the spring to bottom out and bind the spring. I put three shims in and the stall is perfect. The shims also increase the shiftout, whitch increases top speed.

I'm not sure why someone would go to the dealer for shims. They are only large washers. The V comes stock with 1 shim under the primary spring. Just remove the stock shim and take it to your local hardware store and match it up. Simple as that!
