Default steering dampner?

I just had my first ride on my new tires and rims last weekend. It was very bumpy, some of the rocks I hit would jerk the bars pretty hard. They are much rougher than the dunflops. Is there some kind of dampner shock type device made to make steering over rough stuff a bit smoother? I know they make these for trucks and stuff. Thanks for any inputs.

I have a PEP steering damper on my 2004 Raptor and they really do absorb those handlebar jerks. I paid around $140.00 and it was worth every penny.

I have the Denton damoer on my V and it made a huge difference. Buy a rebuildable one so you can put whatever wieght oil in it you want. The Denton comes with 5wt fork oil. With that wt oil i had to adjust it all the way up to get sufficiant damping even it cold weather. I experimented with several oil wts. Huskyharvana bar and chain oil worked perfect. It now has a wide range of adjustibility.
