2000 trail boss owners, opinions please

I saw one of these at the dealer today and it really caught my eye but I havn't heard much being said about them here. I know it's all new so are there the usual bugs that come from an all new model?
Is it a sport bike? if so how would it run compared to say a warrior in acceleration, handling and a little jumping ect.

I bought a new 2000 trail boss in April for my wife. So far, the bike has not had any problems that my wife has not caused herself. The bike is fairly light and fun to ride, but it is only meant to be a trail machine. I have jumped it some, but it is not a great jumping machine. Also, it is not meant to be a true sport machine and would not keep up with a warrior in a race. I would recommend the trail boss to new riders and riders that like to trail ride at a moderate pace, but not race. It will not keep up with a true sport bike on a seriously fast trail ride. I will say that the machine is good at hill climbs and some mudding as it has pretty decent ground clearance.

I own two 00 TB325s. One for me, and one for my girlfriend (or whomever else I go riding with).I've had them since around April/May and haven't had a single problem. we ride them faily hard every weekend. Speaking for myself; they're perfect. They climb anything that we can throw at them and they're are plenty fast enough for ME. However, they are by far NOT the fastest quad out there and far from the slowest. In my opinion, for the person that wants an excellent trail machine, isn't going to be racing or mudding, and has normal testosterone levels, the TrailBoss is awesome. You won't be dissappointed. Let us know your decision. Hope this helped.

I've owned a TB325 for a couple weeks now. I have done a lot of research before buying since it's my first machine and I wanted to get the best for the money. So far it has ran great! I use it for both sport and utility. It yanked a good size tree out of my woods like I wasn't towing anyting at all. The acceleration isn't as quick as some 2 stroke but it does move when you want it to. The previos post about rear brakes doesn't suprise me. The rear brake is an emergency deal only. The hand brake is a little stiff in the front however other than that I have no complaints. I do wish it would have included a hour meter or speedometer. I ended up buying a mountain bike speedometer and installed it on the front right wheel. They are a tad slow to respond but after a couple of seconds it gives the speed. There is a review at the Polaris website that's fairly accurate.

you can buy a speedo hour meter at the polaris dealership for any Polaris. I too am thinking about getting a TB for my girlfriend she loves to ride and now is interested in driving her own. Plus we can take her daughter who also loves to ride.

The trail boss makes a perfect atv for a wife/girlfriend. I never have to worry about her being in the wrong gear going up hills. My riding buddy bought a Recon for his wife and she is constantly in the wrong gear going up hills. Besides, the trailboss is fun to steal from her for a ride or two

Trail Blazer it jumps ok but tries to nosedive you really have to gas it and pull back on the bars. I personally like the trailblazer better but I never had any problems on the Boss it is a great quad for the money

I have had my Trail Boss for about 1 month. I love it. It is my first quad and when I am not riding it I am thinking about riding. Is it a sport bike? No, but it is light enough and quick enough that it is a lot more fun then the big utility machines. You can still use it for plowing snow and light work(justification). Some mods are finally coming to market. Rick Ritter is suppose to be coming out with a 414 kit. Basically the 325 is a 425 just not bored the same. Rick's kit will bore it out to 414cc with a new piston and I am quessing will include a new clutck kit and pipe. So go buy the Trail Boss for $3400, have fun with it for 6 months while it is under warrany, then spend around $500 for the 414 kit. Now you have a 425 machine for $3900! Now is it a sport bike? Pretty darn close!! Have fun!

I bought a '00 TB because I needed one for hunting as well as for trailing. It's the perfect beast for what you're talking about. IT IS NOT A WIMPY BIKE!!
My son and I go riding all the time and it's great! It's never left me stuck and continues to amaze me with what it can do.
You can't go wrong with the TB for price per performance. The only real downside, is finding stuff to hop it up with.
