Default gearing on an 01 raptor

Hi, New guy here.
I have an 2001 raptor that I have a Yosh pipe K & N filter and also been ported and polished. I ride the Little Sahara dunes in Delta Utah. I feel I am lacking in the gearing dept. If anyone has knowledge of gearing raptors please advise. Stock gears I think are 13/40. Should I goto a 12/40 or 12/41. Please help

Dropping to a 12 tooth front will make a noticeable difference in acceleration and the ability to turn those paddles. The single rear tooth change will make a difference, just not as big. Since the first few gears on the 01 are taller, you may want the extra tooth increase in the rear.

I ride the same place, I have 2 01 raptors, When we ran stock I ran a 12/42, it worked very well. But, I found the 12 on the front would wear the chain slider faster. I run a 13/46 on one now. The slider doesn't wear as fast.
