ok well, we all know why most 2-strokes are being phased out; for their shear ability to perform under extreme adversity[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif[/img] and polution. Well, its all due to hippies, ya see, the protest about us, riding, making noise, and somehow, there were hippies elected into congress and the senate. Well, this weekend, I had some training out at Ft. Indiantown Gap, in the middle of PA. Well, as i was driving the humvee i was asigned, i relized, hey, this thing has no emmissions, of mufflers. hey, no military vehicles do(the ones that are used in the fields anyways). Then I see some C-130, ya know, the bigger hunks of metal, that happen to fly. They burn and outrageous amount of fuel, at a very insufficient rate. Well, hippies have seen this, and protested it. The militarty being the military, stomped their @$$'s like the do everything else, and continued to polute. the hippies went back to congragate in their tree houses in sherwood forest, or wherever it is, and we were allready there, having a g'ol time. They got mad, and protested us. Now we have a hard time riding, and our beloved 2-strokes are being phased out by the expencive, "more efficient" 4-strokes. Nothing against 4-strokes, because when their loud, they do sounds kinda bad@$$. So here's my theory about the hippes; Once upon a time, in a town, lets call it the district of columbia, there was this guy, how got tired of hippes, so he started sniping specific ones. Everyone feared this hippy, because the hippies told us to fear him, so we did. After he popped a few heads, he was caught, and sentanced to death.
I hope that didn't offend anyone either. Anyways, I'm not sayin kill hippies, but they are very upsetting, as most of you may know.
This whole thing about hippies taking over can all be changed also, really, it can, you just have to do what I did...register to vote. I know most of you are thinking, oh my, this is some kinda MTV rock tha vote kinda crap, well, its not, I'm just saying, if we have enough people voting, which is completely possible, we can get what we'd like, not what some people think is best everyone else.

Thats great and I aggree,but most of the guys in this forum are little chaps in jr.high who cant vote, so just who do you think it is that you are talking to? Democrats are the evil of our entire way of life. If you really think about it, all the problems that relate to our homeland are results of stupid democratic legislation. $14 million to observe the effects of ducks habitat in North Dakota with evergreen grasses!?! That's the kind of crap that only eco nuts and tree huggers go for. In all of these silly grants, democrats wee in charge of the committee that approved it.

 

AnimalMother85.....I agree with you. Certain sports get criticised while others are overlooked. You hear of tons of ATV and Dirt bikes getting bashed but yet the leading sport in the US, Nascar, you dont hear of any pollution problems, or car racing in general. I race stock cars in Iowa and there are 200 cars every week in the summer at every track across Iowa and all without mufflers or any kinds of emissions. Doesn't matter where you ride or where you live......any extreme sports that people do for fun are always going to have a bad rap. Same way with skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, and all the rest. All it takes is one bad ATVer to get the Media's attention and then everyone else in the sport is all of a sudden just as bad as that person is. Then thats when the "hippies" and politicians jump on the bashing bandwagon.

 

Some of it has to do, with getting old and taking stock of your life. I realize my generation has pretty much made things worse in the world, and some of my generation would like to preserve some things for the future generations. However misguided they may be.
Part of why they pick on 2 strokes, is they can. Its getting to be a smaller group all the time( think outboard motors), and eventually, theyll outlast the two stroke.
I guess its the wish of all parents, to leave the world a better place than they found it. And i suppose , because there are so few of them, they make up for lack of numbers with going overboard on emotion, and logic.

Democrats are all about helping themselves. They want abortion so they can have sex without having kids, they want wealth distribution so they can get money without working hard, and they want us to stop riding our 2-strokes...... well..... im not really sure about that one. Why do they want us to stop? how much of the pollution problem can be attributed to two stroke? like .0000000001 percent? Eh, they must want us to stop just because their A holes.

 

Uhm...its not just the democrats folks. I'm a registered republican and i can tell you i will not be voting for BU(ll)SH(it) again. He has sold us out to the the extreme-religous-nut ***** on the right. Your freedom of speech is about to be yanked and you guys are worried about riding your 2 strokes!! its enough to make you vote for Nader. This country is now being run by the Minority. it's f'n scary.

I can't say it any better hondabuster. Nice to hear a voice of reason amid the chaos. As usual, the path we need to take is threaded between the two armed camps of nutcases. The sport and recreation we like to enjoy as a group has a future if calm heads prevail. Bobcat makes a good point too when he mentions the one bad ATV'er that catches the media's attention. I think we all know at least one rider that is just plain stupid when it comes to riding smart. Maybe it's time we all sat that one person down and told them how it was going to be... or else.

Here in Nova Scotia, the existing laws aren't so bad, they need a few revisions for sure, but they're workable. The problem is, they aren't being enforced, and instead of the heat being on those that should be enforcing them, it falls on the riders in general. So, the government, in typical style, decides it needs a sledgehammer to kill an ant. The result is the whole anthill is crushed, and no one rides anymore without being illegal. No one wants that, although some don't care. Unless we learn to work together, young , old, smart and stupid, we're all going to lose, and that's a simple fact.

It doesn't matter whether it's Canada or the US, in the land of the free, the free are getting royally pissed off at those of us who can't color inside the lines. And that's bad news... for us all.
