I noticed that too last week when my friend and I were cleaning our chains. He's stock chain on the banshee has one but I couldn't find one on the rappy. I guess we need to buy a chain breaker...

I have heard of bikes coming with no master links but i did not know that the raptor was one of them.
Find out what kind of chain you have (520,530. . .) and cut the chain and add one.
Why do you want a master link?

Correct = no master links. Most of the newer 4-strokes dont have them. Your local shop should carry a master link for a 520 chain - just about any brand should work fine. Use a chain breaker or grind off the ends of the pins and punch them through - replace with the masterlink.

A good reason to have a masterlink is it makes the chain very easy to remove if ya blow the tranny (or if something else locks up) - then ya can get towed home. Otherwise it's harder to remove the chain on the trail. Been there TWICE so far.....

Getting the motor out was a pain w/o the master link. Also now that it is not on 2 sprockets it is dragging o the ground when i move the bike. Lastly, W/o the Master link you have to take off the Wingarm to get the chain off = Ridiculous! Anyone know the stock chain size and, exactly what kind of Master link (size and, # or whatever) i need to order? Thanks!

If I recall correctly my stock chain was made by D.I.D. Therefore, a D.I.D 520 masterlink is it. Any masterlink made for a 520 size chain is fine. The 520 is all ya need- it specifies the size, length is specified by # of links but that doesnt come into play here.
