Do you have any play in the clutch lever. Meaning when you pull it in is it free and easy for say a 1/4" gap between the lever and the bracket before it gets harder to pull in? If not adjust it until it is. Otherwise, it sounds like your clutch plates need replacing.

A new GYTR clutch is around $100. It comes with the plates, fibers and new heavy duty springs. Otherwise you need

6 of part #5Y1-16321-00-00 friction plates @ $6.43 each
7 of part #498-16325-00-00 clutch plates @ $13.46 each
2 of part #5Y1-16331-01-00 friction plates @ $15.12 each

You could probably get away with not buying new clutch plates and just lightly sand the faces of each of those and just buy new friction plates (fibers)

I'd just buy a GYTR clutch kit myself.

Oh yeah, you'll possibly need a new clutch cover gasket also.

Part #5LP-15462-00-00 @ $9.16

It was smoking from the exhaust pipe? If the clutch goes out you will notice the quad reving higher when you give it gas but it doesn't pick up speed as well as it should. With the quad in gear and letting the clutch out and it just sits there, then you have a problem with the clutch in some way.

Were you climbing a hill feathering the clutch etc?

when i was on the hill i had clutch stationary.....in one position. then it started smoking from under the sit.....then lose of power etc! i just messed it up. the clutch is out i bet. does that still deal with the clutch plates? if not how much to fix do ya think?

If you fried your clutch then the GYTR kit will cure it all. Smoke coming out from under the seat doesn't sound good though. Can't imagine that being related to a burnt clutch.

it may have been from the pipe....considering i was on an incline it would go up and that would right under the seat. it does not smoke any more.....just that once. well i checked that site for the clutch kit and it is on back order. any other place to get one online you know of. if i replaced the clutch myself.....how long do you think it can take?
