Hi every one. I have an 04 sports man, carberated. And it runs like crap. It has 2 new plugs and the carb has been adjusted by my dealer. Twice now. It backfires upon deceleration to light throttle. I imagine this is why they went to efi. Any one have this expericane or any tips advice ect. Thanx. Jay.

 

Try checking your throttle cable if there is too much play in it, it will cause back firing on deceleration. hope that helps

 

Good info sidewinder also if there is no play it can somtimes cause backfireing. If I remember correctly 1/8 inch of movement before the carb. slide starts to open is what you want. Check you manual for cable adjustment specs.
