Default Decisions ... Decisions 400EX or Raptor

Okay, i have a question reguarding the 400EX and the Raptor. I just recently sold my 93 300EX and im looking to upgrade. I have been riding since i was 11, and im 19 now. Im looking to buy a brand new raptor or 400EX. I have ridden both and love both. I think the power the raptor has and the fact that it has reverse. And i like the 400EX b/c it has a lower seat height, im only 5'5" and about 125 lbs, and the fact that its a honda, they seem to last forever. I rode the hack out of my 300 and never had any problems. Also, where i live there is only $1000 in price difference. Is the raptor worth the extra money? If this helps, i mostly ride in the woods and on fast trails I also do some play racing with buddys, and i occasionally raced down at the local flat track in my town. Well any comments would be helpful. Thanks.

the 400ex will give you more reliability

the raptor will be a bit faster,,and a bit more work to maintain

If I where in your shoes I would go for the 400ex (room to improve later)

Sounds like you enjoy the bulletproof Honda reliability.

For the trails the 400ex is awesome,,,,,and I dont think sport bikes should have reverse anyhow!

The simplicity of the 400, the availability of parts,,and the low maintinence factor make the 400 a great buy.

You may even want to get a slightly used 2002-2003 and save $1500 or so.

For your size and preferences, it looks like you should be on a honda.

the 400 would give you better results in the woods trails but the raptor will give you better results on the fast trails and races.... which is more important to you..... go with that one

I've never riden a Raptor but the 400EX is in its own backyard on the trails and tough to beat. This is where the owners of bigger bikes severely underestimate the 400EX's potential to hand them an a$$ whooping...................

In the long run, I think you would be happier with the Raptor. The 400ex might handle alittle better, but the Rappy makes up with its stock 36hp of honda #ss kicking power. If you even think about going to the dunes, the Raptors the way to go. Good luck, ride on!!!
