Good Price on 400???
#1
Ok I am having a hard time purchasing an ATV but I do have it limited down to an Arctic Cat 400 4x4 with Auto.
My local dealers price
$5500 for ATV
$40 Documentation Fee
$387 tax
Total = $5927 out the door
This comes with a free service at 200 miles
Out of State (2 hour drive one way)
$5299 Total price and tax in Ohio if I register it
Are either of these good prices? Would you pay an extra $600 to know that your dealer is right around the corner and that when you went there it didn't feel odd because you didn't buy from him.
Thanks in Advance

If you have a good local dealer that you can trust I would spend the extra money with him. Might politely let him know that you could have gotten better price but you felt this was the better deal ( not always the same thing ). A little diplomacy goes along way sometimes. As for whether those are good prices I don't know, will have to check on that.

BT, I too am looking to buy a 400 but in a manual. I have been to 10 different dealers to compare prices to kinda get a feel what they were going for. Prices varied up to $800. The dealer with the lowest price is 3 hours one way from me. I went to 2 local dealers and one of them would match the price and the other is willing to beat it by about $80. I'm glad that my local guy (about 20 min away) has come around to my way of thinking. I tell myself I would do it but honestly, it would be a hassle to have to drive the 6 hour round trip to get any warr. work done and I go that way at least once every 2 weeks. Option 2 would be take it to the local guy and tell him uuhh, uuhh I just recently relocated here and hope he buys it...... As for the prices you were quoted they seem pretty good I think the dealer told me $6300 otd for an auto before any haggling.
You could get a written quote from the dealer that gave you the lower price (So you can try to get financing from the bank) Then go to the local guy and tell him "Can you beat this price". You never know, it worked for me GOOD LUCK!!!

I live in Virginia and I am selling my 2003 400I auto MRP that has only 156 miles on it! The bike is brand new. I bought it in sept of 03 and it has been garage kept and started on a weekly bases when not ridden. I also changed the oil at 100 miles and it still has a 14 month warrenty. I paid $5385.00 which included tax and atv ramps but if you are interested, I am asking payoff for everything at $4400.00.
That's alot better than paying close to $6000.00 for a new one! If interested, we could meet half way or you could come look at it. My e-mail is jay136842@cs.com or phone 540-972-5580 Thanks!!
