Radio Shack Shims
#1
Went to R.S. after work- they only had one bag of washers, 20 each of about 5 different sizes. Got home and mic'd the ones that fit the stock needles and they were .031. Salesdink no help, don't think he was sure of his own name. Do the proper shims have any ID on the package? Might have to look elsewhere.

I got mine from the hardware store. I had to take a dremel tool to make them fit. If they are a light
steel or a brass washer you can lay a piece of sandpaper on the bench and sand the washer to whatever thickness you want. I used .025 in my 03 p650.

I found a source for shims at this site. You may want to try. http://www.bellacorse.com/bce012-14.htm

Sorry, I am kind of new at this posting thing. Forgot to say that I have never dealt with this company. Another place to look for shims is parts for older Kawasaki motorcycles because their canadian versions had notched adjustable needles and shims. The US versions had non adjustable needles.

Guys, all my shims came from a local Hobby Shop. R/C plane and car guys use a variety of washers that will suit your needs. You'll find them in brass, steel, aluminum, and even nylon and plastic. Couple of bucks gets you a small bag full.
