chain lubrication
#1
Im wondering if using chain lube is such a good idea, when riding in the sand. I have a new 04 Raptor and used chain lube before a trip to the dunes. Using the lube attracts sand which causes abrasion. Which could lead to more wear and tear. Comments?

I had a bad experience with pj blue label and sand. My entire drivetrain was caked with sand. I had to use kerosine to remove the sand and lube (which turns into wax for lack of a better way to describe it).
Save yourself some money and use synthetic motor oil on your chain.

I never use any lube when sand riding. I have yet to find one that does not attract sand and make it stick. Chain Waxes are the worst, they're like glue! When not riding at Silver Lake, I just use good ol' recycled motor oil. Does the trick for me, a lot cheaper too. Though sometimes, I confess, when my brother buys some PJ1, you might catch me using it.

I used to use Just grease out of a grease gun.....bo over it and all my bearings after every single ride...now I still grease all the bearings up I use White Lithium Grease (Spray Can, 3.99 i think at CarQuest) and It seems to work good so far...dunno about sand since i ride in everything but sand
