700EFI+winch.. easy task to install?
#2
that would depend on how mechanical you are. do you mind tearing into your brand new bike? is the mount a standard front mount or a multi-mount? i know it's late now but sometimes you can get the dealer to instal for free when you pruchase the bike. you can still go back and ask them to instal, the 1 hour labor they charge is well worth it, then i know it's done right . if anything goes wrong, it's back on them. other than that, it's not all that hard, mounting the brackets is pretty straightfoward, you'll have to mount a solenoid on the frame somewhere under the seat and then do the wiring, make sure the wires are'nt rubbing on anything and wire tie them to something solid. good luck.

It's a pretty straightforward deal. If you get the Warn 2.5ci that was made for Polaris it will come with all the brackets and mounting plates needed for the install. The instructions are very easy to read and the wires are even color coded to the lugs on the winch and contactor box. The only thing is to make sure you tap into a key on power source (red and white wire) so the winch can't accidently be activated. Also, there is a large hole on the back of the mounting plate for the wires to pass through to the winch, if you can find another route for the wires mounting the front end back on will be easier as it's a pretty tight fit between the mounting plate and the front plastic. Good luck!

If you purchased the Polaris 2.5 winch it should have directions in the kit. Shouldn't be to hard, i installed one for my buddy a few weeks ago on a carb. 700. Just take off the left side panel and front rack and nose piece (below pod). Remove the front polaris sign (4 bolts) by radiator. Put on the plate mount and winch and the contacter goes on the back left side rear wheel of the atv.
you'll run all of the wires along the frame. You'll also find the accessory wires tucked away in the loom or in the mess of wires on the LEFT hand side, right behind the radiator, it may actually be an Orange/white wire, not red white. Just follow the directions, isn't too bad, couple hours.

well i got it put on today, took longer then i wouldve liked, had my younger "thinks he knows it all" brother helping me, learned a lot doing it myself, thing that messed me up the most was one red wire that goes to the ignition, took me a bit to figure out exactly were it went. pretty nice though everything else was setup so that there was no drilling etc. all premade holes. and it sits nice and high... love it.
