Raptor vrs. YFZ in pulling
#1
I know the YFZ beats the Raptor in drags and other kinds of races, but for towing or pulling someone for sand surfing, wouldn't the raptor have much more torque and brute power due to the "big block" atv engine. I'm arguing with someone about this.

last weekend at sand mtn there was some guy on a raptor pulling around a guy on twin mattress - it looked like a tractor pull LMAO
he was trying to get him up comp hill but he wasnt coming close .... well my buddy with a lightly modded YFZ hooked up the mattress and tried to pull the mattress man up comp hill and while he didnt pull him all the way to the top he got a lot farther than the raptor

no your right. the raptor definitely has a better low end pull. It was just interesting to watch
the 450 probably did better due to its top end power and massive wheelspin
the YFZ doesnt like to lug around at low rpms already. i couldnt imagine towing a mattress around

660R - your right the raptor would pull the mattress around better for most terrains. A utility would do even better IMO
only up a steep sand dune would a YFZ do better based on what I saw. the utility would be my last choice to pull the mattress up a steep sand dune though .... need the wheelspeed.
sand changes everything ... its weird

Yeah, I haven't had the chance to experience riding on a dune. But it definetly effects quads and performance, because on pavement and hard pack dirt....race results are a lot differnt the racing up a sand dune.
But in most cases, a utility would probaly fill the spot in dragging a mattress or anything for that matter. Something like a Grizzly, Foreman, or the new 700 Twin Peaks.
