I've got a 1998 454 2x4. I've got 1,734 miles on it, never had a problem out of it. To all the other 454 owners out there how many miles do ya'll have on ya'lls? Right now I have 57 miles on my tank of gas. How many miles have ya'll been able to get out of a tank? Never had one problem with mine. Had to replace the spark plug once and I change the oil and filter every 300 miles.

 

My uncle has a 98 4x4. Probably has a little over 2000 miles. Carburator has always been a problem. Has to be cleaned out quite a bit for it to run good all the time. Other than that, its pretty solid. No idea on mileage. I could get about 85 miles out of a tank on my 99 500. His is probably similar.

 

1996 454 and 650 a/d the 454 has 10,500 miles had to put new rings and clean valve and new valve seals runs great

My 1998 454 has around 2700 miles on it, I bought it with around 1400 miles on it.

I've had quite a few problems with it. Had to get the cylinder re-bored, cleaned out the carb 3 or four times, broke a ball joint and ended up tearing both cv boots at the same time, had to replace the pinion in the rear differential, and had several shorts in the main wiring harness to name some of the more serious problems encountered.

In between repairs, it is a good utility quad; has not bad top end, goes through the mud holes pretty good and has more than enough jam to haul a moose out of the bush.

I get around 50 miles to a tank of gas, if it is all trail riding, maybey 35 miles per tank when mudding
