clutc\belt question
#1
Can’t get my belt figured out. When it is just sitting with no pressure there is about 1 1\2 inches of play up and down. I put it in gear and hold the brake and give it a little gas and the belt climbs up the drive clutch and is now in speck. But let off the gas and it goes back to 1 1\2. I thought this was correct because it pulls well and does not sequel and the belt looks good. I looked at a Grizz clutch assembly today and now I see mine can’t be correct. The Grizz belt is tight just sitting there. Mine has never been this way. My belt doesn’t even touch the drive clutch when at idle. The first belt went 1200 miles before it went and that’s the first time I looked in the cover. The new belt went in and I adjusted it the way I described. I thought something wasn’t quite right because of the directions on Nyrocs page on the adjustment. My driven clutch is ok, I think . The drive clutch does not touch the sides of the belt until you give it some gas and it pulls in to the belt and goes. Is my drive clutch way out of shim? If so how do you adjust\shim it. All the shimming I see is the driven clutch. When you put a little pressure on the belt it rides at the top of the driven pulley.

I'm not sure, but I don't think the drive pulley is supposed to be touching the belt, until the stall RPM is reached. You should have about 1 inch of deflection, 1 1/2 is way out of spec. You can't measure it, though, by how much it slack the belt has up and down.
