Anyone ever heard of a loud pipe becomming quieter?!

i have a white bros e series slip on and it runs perfect...i also have a kn filter...but the thing is when i first installed the pipe and filter this thing was pretty loud....and was for about a week...but after riding on the track and racing yesterday, its really quiet...anyone know why this is or is this normal? thanks
ps. no quiet core is in it...

It could be that your really getting used to it or you are becoming deaf!!!! Other than that I'm not sure !!

that happened on my fmf mm2 but i also think is is just me cause the nieghbors still think it is loud

If you had a 2-stroke, I'd say that the pipe was getting clogged. But since its a 400EX there's no explanation for it getting quieter.

I have a DG exhaust on my 300ex. IT IS LOUD. The only way mine seems to get quieter is when I put the spark arrestor on it. Other than that, neighbors are complaining.

What did you say, huh, I can't here you. Just kidding. You are getting used to the pipe. It doesn't seem as loud now that your ears have adjusted.

Spark Arrestor

How difficult is it to take out the spark arrestor and what are the advantages and disadvantages of taking it out? Where is it?
