You can get pretty much any kind of pipes besides LRD adjustables for under $500. Different pipes are made for different applications, you need to specify what kind of riding you will be doing. If you want pipes with more low-mid power, look no further than Paul Turner Mids. If you are looking for more mid-top end power, look at T-5's and other types of in-frame drag pipes like CPI or Shearer.

If you want to get a good deal on pipes, check out ebay. You can get them new or used on there for way under retail.

I'm not sure what your talking about then, you can get both the pipes and silencers together for under $500 on ebay brand new. Silencers dont really effect the performance of the pipes, mostly sound. What kind of riding do you do?

Acually the silencers effect exhaust pulse which effects power and power range.

You may be right, I didnt know for sure. But I can say this, in the 3 different silencers I have tried(Toomey, FMF, and an unknown brand) with the same head pipes, I saw no difference in power or power range. I think the real difference is when you get into ones with or without spark arrestors.
