1985 honda atc 70 with problems

I just got a 85' honda atc 70 and I have clue how the shifting pattern goes on this thing and I fixed the pull start on it and I pull and pull and it won't start.

first of all since you are still awake this late at night we will hit one issue at a time. Are you very mechanically inclined???? This will help me on answering your no start prob.

1) check to see if you are getting gas to the carb(remove the fuel line from the tank to the carb)
2) see if you have spark(remove spark plug, set the plug so it will ground out, and pull start it, look for spark)
3) do a compression check(install a compression tester in the plug hole and pull start it)
Then tell us what you come up with

after you try to start it a bit....remove the plug and see if it is wet with fuel.
