ATP with 29.5" Outlaws?
#1
Just picked a new 500ATP and now it is time for some upgrades. I have installed 28" Outlaws in the past and was wondering if any of you have seen the 29.5s. Is there actually a 1.5" height difference? Is the lug height the same or taller? Just wondering if they are worth the extra coin or if it will be just bragging rights.
Thanks

Who said anything about not lifting it? Fun has no boundries. You should see it in less than two weeks but it may only have 28's. I think I may turn my 700 back to stock and sell it, then I'll just use those tires and rims. I'll round up a digital camera and load some pics as soon as it is done. I'm still wondering about the 29.5s though, I would be very interested to see the difference, and would consider going with them instead.

Well the 29.5's keep getting pushed and pushed back. Last date Dan gave was some where around June. Although 28's are coming back in stock, but all back orders are getting filled first. But for specifications on the tires. Yes the lugs are a lot deeper, no EDL, just deeper than 28's. The side lugs are suppose to be close to 2 inches. Tread will be more flatter to give it a smoother ride. And yes it is a true 1.5 taller which means, if 27's will blow up to 30's, 28's will blow up around 31, put some 29.5's on and you just as well have you some 33's. Oh yeah, i think the 12.5's are coming out before the 10.5's but not sure on that one.

Hey yall, how do yall like the Outlaws compared to the other mudtires. Are they a lot heavier? Power loss? I was wondering. I think they look pretty mean, but I am unsure about them. Considering 589's. What do yall think.

Thanks BigRed. I have 44's on my truck so some 33's would be awsome on my quad. Yes the Outlaws are heavy but not as heavy as some others. The 589's would be much lighter. I love the performance of the Outlaws in the mud better than the other big mudders. Remember these tires are not good trailriding tires, so you'll have to decide how far in you want to go.

i had 26" Outlaws on my SP500 for a year. terrific in the mud, TERRIBLE EVERYWHERE else! bumpiness is an understatement. it's kinda like riding down a washed-out rocky trail ALL the time. the bouncing never stops. plus, the wear on the axles is extreme to.
i know the new Outlaw Radials are designed differently. but don't waste your $$ on the regular Outlaws. they are just so outdated it's not funny!
there are so many comparable mud tires being produced now that provide excellent mudding abilities AND still give a CIVILIZED ride. plus, the Outlaws are WAY too HEAVY. period!
call Highlifter, ask for Gary. he knows tires and treated me well.
