I have no direct experience, but check the threads from the other guys that have installed the CDI because I'm pretty sure I read in one that you can indeed beat a stock 700 with a CDI-equipped 650, but I'm not 100% certain.

Don't tell him you ordered it, just race him again when you get it installed. After you beat him (you should win) Just tell him you upgraded to premium unleaded. If he orders one he will beat you again!

Tommyboy, also get a twin air filter. If it is an 02 get an o3 airbix and twin air filter. Get a DG snorkle. Make sure your jetting is right. Don't tell your friend about any of it.

Just beat him. Then scratch your head and ask him he thinks his 700 is running OK.

You do not hafta do the exhaust mod.

If there is any way you can do the mod (with smaller holes) and make the baffle on the end sligtly bigger without making it look modified. That would be good.

But, if you modify yours and he sees it, you wasted your time because he will do it too.

But, if you tell him about it first and help him do it to his with small holes, then do yours afterwards with bigger holes, that might work out better for you.

Mickey D also has high compression pistons for use with his long duration cams (always port and polish the head too). Your friend wouldn't be able to see that either. That would spank him really good.

After that, tell him about this forum so he can ask why his 700 gets beat so bad by a 650.

so with the added air flow of the twin air and nappa hose along with rejetting it will still run good without the exaust mod? every one says if you let more air in you have to let more out or it will run like crap. but I dont know much about this stuff so im just trying to learn.... thanx for your help, i think my buddy might be suprised

I did the airbox mod before the exhaust mod. It ran fine. It is smarter to do both because you get better results doing both.

It is not a good idea to make holes in the airbox lid because that air is hot sometimes. Hot air reduces your power. But, get the snork and the filter.

Tommy if you are going to do the exhaust mod at some point anyhow why not do the hole thing exhaust and intake at once . Why chan
ce having to mess around with jetting twice .
