hpd race vs. cpi pipe?
#2
Well i have th HPD race pipe and love it.I believe they are real close performance wise and i guess it all depends on how the clutching is set up.The HPD pipe runs to about 7500rpms.I'm sure Bubba or someone else can tell you what the CPI runs at.The CPI definitely looks a little better.Just my opinion.

Dennis Shotwell swears by the CPI pipes. I was extremely happy with mine. Mike at HPD told me that the HPD pipe really likes to be run around 7350 to 7400 for max output. The CPI on gas will turn roughly 7500 give or take and 7800 on alky. I bet they are nearly identical on performance. I definitely like the looks of the CPI over the rough looking HPD.

What do you think the difference would be in bike lengths between a trail mod and a race mod both on race gas in a 300ft flat ground sand drag?

Well i had the chance to do this comparison last year at Lil Sahara in Okl.The difference is several bike lengths.Get the race mod,you will have all the power in the world, you may never need it but it will be there if you do.

no problems blasting the trails all over with HPD race mods, even lightened over 100 lbs,the race pipe is so efficient and wider powerband that it is easier to be in the meat of the engine all the time whenever the speed, that motor love good gas,so race mods isn't a problem.i'll admit the CPI is starting to grown on me tough, but i came with a nice running quad with HPD race stuff.
