I was just for fun racing a ds650 full race ready quad and I actually got him to about 45 mph or so then well you know what happened after that. I did not beleive this thing would even come close to matching one of those.

What mods do you have done to your DS...or did you get the one stock that is far superior to all the others...we know no 2 quads perform exactly the same :-)

My buddy has a KFX 700 and stock it would handle the DS 650's he dragged until about 40-50 and then, just like the raptor would, the DS started walking away on him. He has put in different springs, piped it, and improved its breathing and we have noticed quite a bit of difference and the wall he would hit at 45 seems to have dissappeared ( we believe that is clutch more then anything)...will be interesting when he goes out now...i dont think he will beat a DS through top end...but the KFX 700 has been known to be all over everything of the line and down low...even the lighter bikes...enlighten us on why yours is the monster it is and doesnt fall victim to this.

Funny thing is my buddy is a bigger guy 6'3 and about 235 and went to buy a DS 650. Thought the YZ/Z was to small and he was to hunched over on them ....he didnt like the handling of the raptor (tippy with a bit of roll in turns) but loved the top end. Went to a dealer that had a bomb and the KFX 700...rode the DS 650 and bought the KFX. Guess top speed isnt everything to him...you think that bomb engine has more torque then those Kawi V-Twins? Glad you like your quad, it seems to run well...good quading.

Hey bartlett;

You saying that there's no Prairie that can beat a stock DS, or no prairie that can beat yours.

I by now means would beet a ds 650 but I easily smoked him to 45 But then It might have well of shut my engine off it was like I was just coasting when he blew past me. But he is a guy who races these things for a living and is in first place locally here and he has several performance things I noticed on his bike. But I don't think there is a bike out there (manual) that can even come close to beating a mildly modded prairie on a short race. My .02 cents

KFX 700 will beat a prairie to 45...have yet to see a DS 650 that impressed me with its low end...claim to fame is their ability to hit high MPH on high end. But hey, you can practically mod anything to get what you want...if you have the money...alltoys had his prairie going 98...bartlett, have you had your DS going 98?

I would bring a stock P to MN and race your DS in 300 ft if I could make the rules.

Rule #1, race would be run in reverse.

Once I do get enough money I will be getting a V-force...and then I will moddify simple bolt ons of course...pipes and what not...but then we could meet up...I just wanna meet some other people on the forum...and if we do race its all for fun
