Default Z400 Broken in!

Woohoo, my quad is finally broken in! A little bit over ten hours now. Taking it in for the ripoff break-in service on Wednesday. I think I'm going to get a white brothers e-series full pipe kit. A KFX400 that rides with us has the slip-on and it made a very nice difference.

Hehe, I can finally rip open on this bike soon.

yeh I've got about 3 hours on my new Z, a friend said that he did the break in service himself on his and the valves didn't need adjustment yet, but i probley won't do mine myself either, i might just change the oil@ 10 hours and take it in for valve adj @ about 20 hours? the only other stuff they do at the break in service is lube and adj the cables and check tp i think?

White Bros? Which one? I am looking to get the e series promeg. But they dont have it for the z yet. I read that the power gain for the sbend is 2-4 Hp and the pro Meg is 4-7 HP.

hey guys...I have Raptor thats set up...uuummmm ok but I just got my wife a new Z and after the weekend at the dunes she said she wanted a pipe, filter and jet. I thought about the Alien pipe with a K&N but if you guys think there is a better pipe out there please let me know as I am not up to par on the Z stuff yet and there is no better person to ask than a Z owner...What would you think the best setup would be...Thanks..

All I will say is check out CTracing.com. There pipes dynoed 2-3 hp over every other brand, and the price isn't bad either. Right around $482 for a complete tunable system with jet kit. Mine'll be coming in July!

Breakin service!
I have about 50 hours on mine and nobody told me about a breakin serice. When I say breakin service I don't mean breaking in period.
I changed the oil around first 12 hours of use.Hell I haven't even pulled the plug in it yet.No need to,even when rejeted, just runs like a BAT OUT OF HELL.I love my quad so much...took it out for a run around the neighborhood yesterday and saw some kids playing in a muddhole on there quads and there mouths like to hit the ground when I rolled around the bend.Everybody around me has utility atv's with snorkels and lift kits etc.etc....

I had my valves done 6 months after I got the bike with like 50 hours on it. The dealer said it didn't need any adjustments when they checked it but my brother's raptor had big gaps in the valves. It was a rip-off thought. 120 large for the service.
