This friend of a friend whom I have not met has seen/heard my raptor all unbenouced to me. Anyways my friend told me tonight that he came by with his new hrc equipped 450r. They were all tellin me that I would get my a$$ handed to me. I guess he did something with his sprockets, I don't know but my friend said his trail computer showed the fastest speed attained to be 89 mph. My friend said he rode it around his yard and he could do wheelys in third no problem. Needless to say I'm worried. My raptor is piped with header and k&n. Runs kinda rich. I raced a pretty tough banshee: bills pipes, lighter rider, I'm not sure what else and won every race after started holeshoting in second. I am very worried to say the least! Mine has 18 in. tires so it seems to accelerate pretty quick. Where we race I can usually just top out in fifth but because of the smaller tires I don't think that I can be going that fast maybe 70. The strip is maybe 340 yds. but that included braking to stop. I have no first hand experience as far as how fast these things are but I heard modded their pretty fast. I was thinking about nos. but I wanted to wait until I got an extended swingarm. I just don't want to break into the stock motor, it has maybe 8 to 10 hours on it. What do you all think?

 

dude race him i mean don't put nuttin on the line for it like slips or money or nuttin. just race him and see what happens. Let me know though asap.

I just got thinkin. stock a rappy goes 75 factor in the 18 in tire and tops might be 67-70. No factor in the yoshi pipe and k % n and I bet it does go 75[you can't see cause your eye tears up so bad] It just gets there a heck of alot quicker. What do you guys think is the horsepower of my combo and his. How much power do you think I would get if I took it in to get jetted[I stink w/ carbs, prob. mess it up worse than it is]. it sputters at low rpm's like a two stroke now. I don't know if this could be it but it has the huge header pipe from yoshi, the one that they say is only for racing? Finally do you think that a nology plug wire would help? Both w/ the jetting and w/ power? I know this is alot of questions but I want to bring my A game when I race this guy which will prob. be this weekend. thanks everyone.

maybe 40 at most, i dont knwo i have never dynoed my bikeI have similar upgrades. you could probably try it and then share the results

 

Just bring him the money cause, the weight to power ratio of the HRC equipped CRF's and the weight to power ratio of your piped Raptor is like apples and oranges. You'll need a respecatable 686 kit in your raptor to beat the HRC equipped quad. Equal riders and weights of course. This is all just my humble opinion.

 

You guys don't think nos. would be good? This sucks, I'm worried about a guy with 210cc less displacement. I am going to give it my all and if I lose so what; but I just want to say I did my best; riding and preperation!!
