Default SPORTSMAN 90 BUMPER

MY SON SMACKED A TREE THIS WEEKEND RIDING AROUND OUR CAMP AND BUSTED THE PLASTIC BUMPER COVER. SO, I WAS THINKING ABOUT GETTING A DIFFERANT BUMPER. DOES ANY ONE KNOW WHO WOULD SELL A NICE LOOKING BUMPER FOR A '03 SPORTSMAN 90? THANKS

For inexpensive factory replacement, try www.partsland.com - 59.99.

If you are tired of replacing factory design bumpers on your '02 SP-90 unit, visit a few mini-showrooms and/or online racing units. If you like a few designs you like, ask where they got their upgraded bumpter. Their seller may also have one that fits an '03 SP-90. If you still can't find one, take your designs to a few local fab / welder shops in your area. Some make customized bumpers (like my local welder guy) and they sell it to you at an affordable price.

Hope this helps...

My son done the same thing on his 03 Sportsman 90. So what I did is bought a Scrambler 90 bumper. An got rid of the front and back racks. The on thing about buying a Scrambler bumper is you have to make two brackets for the top for the bumper to mount. But it looks a more sporter and his likes it alot better. For the bumper and the brackets it cost about $80.00. I look at get one custom made but the guy told me it would cost about $120 or more depeneding on how much fab. he had to do. Hope this helps

To obtain prices on a customized bumper, do shop around. Just like auto sales dealers, each company has their different price ranges. Some Fab places charge an arm, and others only charge a finger for the same part. Perhaps my local fab / welder guy doesn't know he can charge more then a finger. If you could find an existing 3rd party bumper that is already built and only needs "minor" support adjustments, then go for it. What ever works best for you....

Talk about customized fab, here's the next item on my "to do" list....

Instead of purchasing a specialized handle bar with a padded cross member ($130.00 + shipping), I was thinking of purchasing a cross member foam pad (from any motocycle shop), then getting my local welder guy to weld on a cross member bar onto our existing factory handle bars. With a little grinder to smooth out its welds and some black gloss paint, it should look the same as a new 3rd party cross-member handle bars. Total price should be around $50-$60 Much less expensive then purchasing a 3rd party cross-member handle bars - for our deep mud / trail riding needs....

As implied, use what ever works best for you and your unique riding needs...
